MED ACCESS drivers maintain the following qualifications:
For the safety of all passengers and our employees, MED ACCESS is committed to providing a safe transport and work environment. Our enhanced cleaning and safety protocol includes:
The level of service is about how the rider moves, not how sick they are or how far they are going. Booking the right transportation type helps the trip go smoothly.
Ambulatory - the rider can walk with a steadying arm, a cane or a walker, and can manage a standard vehicle seat.
Wheelchair - the rider stays in a chair for the whole trip. The chair loads through the vehicle access system and is secured for transport.
Stretcher - the rider cannot sit upright safely or requires stretcher-based non-emergency transportation.
Bariatric - riders over roughly 300 pounds may require reinforced equipment and additional transportation accommodations.
If you are unsure, describe the situation to MED ACCESS at and we will help you choose the appropriate booking option.
Some transportation needs carry an additional charge, including stairs and bariatric accommodations. Current charges are shown during booking based on the selected transportation type and add-ons.
Two things carry an additional charge and are worth knowing about up front: stairs, which require a second crew member and add a minimum of $75 each way, and bariatric service, which uses different equipment.
Everything on this page is non-emergency transportation. MED ACCESS does not provide emergency medical care or emergency monitoring during the ride, and scheduled transportation should not be used for a medical emergency.
If this is a medical emergency, call 911.Request a trip online, or call . Current service hours: Mon-Fri 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
